PWH Comments allows you to enable comments in your website

Would you like to enable user comments on certain pages of your website? PWH Comments turns that into the most mundane of tasks.

Requirements

You will need a web hosting provider which supports PHP and MySQL

Installation

Installation is really simple. Unzip the download file and copy the pwhcomments folder into the root directory of your website.

Open the folder PWHComments/Includes and then edit the file Variables.inc.

Change the values of the following line:

$DatabaseServerAddress = "localhost";
$DatabaseName = "dbname";
$DatabaseUserName = "root";
$DatabasePassword = "pwd";
$TablePrefix               = "PWHComments_";

The first four settings are determined by either yourself if you have access to create databases, or your web hosting company if they create the database for you. The last setting, TablePrefix can be used if you are using an already existing database. This prefix will then create tables using this prefix, so, in the example above, the Admin table would be called "PWHComment_Admin". This will prevent any clashes between your existing tables and the ones PWH Comments creates.

Once that's done, go to www.yoursite.com/PWHComments. You will be asked to create a login for your self. This is where you will come back to to moderate comments

Enabling comments in your pages

Once you have the installation complete, simply add the following line of code to your web page where you want the comments to appear (usually at the end of your page):

Customising the look

In order to make the comments fit in better with your pages, you can style them by adding the following styles to your pages:

Moderating Comments

Go to yoursite.com/PWHComments and login with the details you created during installation.

You will be able to moderate, spam, delete, edit or approve comments, as well as set up spam filters.

PWH Comments comes with a built in Captcha to reduce the number of spam attacks your site receives.
